Walkabout: cheap, sleazy, fun!
Walkabout is the generic Australian themed bar on Corn Street in the centre of Bristol. Central Bristol can frequently feel like a bit of a war zone. Police are are a visible presence, the smell of a potential fight looms over every Saturday night and there is always that feeling if you bump in to the wrong guy you could be part of it.
Walkabout fits right in here… but in a good way. It is a cheap, pretty sleazy bar with a lot of students during term time. The food looks pretty horrific but again is cheap. They serve the real Australian beer Toohey’s - again cheaply.
Upstairs they have a nightclub ‘Surfers’ with a young crowd up for dancing. Downstairs they have a large bar area, with big screens which are always packed for any live football games.
