Barcamp Bristol October 12th 2007
The first Bristol based BarCamp is due to run in October. This is an un-conference - a conference where participants set the agenda rather than a traditional conference where experts lecture at attendees. Every attendee is encouraged to give a demo, a session or help with one. Their website states that “Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.” The idea is that there are no spectators, only participants.
The conference is aimed at the web community with a a focus on early stage web applications and open source technologies. The cost is a nominal five pounds. More details and a sign up page can be found here - http://barcamp.org/BarCampBristol
