Peak Oil is the theory that the world will soon, or already has, reached the peak of oil production and that supplies will start to dwindle leading to ever rising prices, competition for scarce resource or diversification in to non oil energy sources. Transition Bristol are organising an event for the 25th of November to discuss “Can you imagine Bristol after oil?”

The event will be held at the Council House at College Green. Tickets can be purchased on the Transition Bristol website. The line up of speakers reads like a rollcall of the great and good in the peak oil forecasting business. Richard Heinberg author of Power Down and Peak Everything will be joined by Jeremy Leggett author of The Carbon War and David Strahan of The Last Oil Shock fame. There will even be a Doctor in attendance as Chris Johnstone stands by to care for the sick and discuss his book Find Your Power.
